If you are a fellow chocolate addict, you know how it feels when a craving hits. (I’ve found myself scrambling around the kitchen many a late night on a quest for some chocolaty relief.) The Bitten Word writers Zach and Clay know this feeling as well. In their words: “We do not need much of an excuse to treat ourselves”—and they love the idea of an easy-to-make, microwavable chocolate dessert. But since they recently tried another cake-in-a-mug recipe that left them with “spongy, and dry, and sometimes a bit chewy” results, they were a bit reluctant to give the concept another go.
But they took the plunge. And Zach and Clay report that our microwaved Coffee Mug Molten Chocolate Cake for Two tastes, “well, like a cake.” (Which makes sense, given that we made this cake more than 100 times in the test kitchen to get it just right.) “We’ve made the cakes a handful of times whenever we’ve had the ingredients on hand,” they wrote on their blog, saying that our recipe is “an upgrade that works flawlessly.”
MAKE IT NOW: Our recipe for Coffee Cup Molten Chocolate Cake For Two is free through November 6, 2013.
