Who doesn’t love the melty, buttery flavor of a freshly made grilled cheese sandwich? It’s the perfect last-minute, weeknight dinner or even a midnight refrigerator-raiding snack. And even though we’ve all (hopefully) grown to love stinky, pungent cheeses such as brie, goat, gruyere and Roquefort in our adulthood, nothing seems to replace the taste of good, old-fashioned American cheese. It’s just too familiar, it’s just so delicous.

So when we saw one of our favorite bloggers, Brown Eyed Baker, tackling our popular recipe for DIY American Cheese, we knew this was a worth-while endeavor to follow. And boy was it. In her words, “I was seriously stunned when I realized how incredibly easy it was to create my own American cheese, right there in my kitchen, in less than 15 minutes!” Sounds like a winning recipe, if you ask us.

Do you love all things DIY? Then check out our newest cookbook: “The America’s Test Kitchen DIY Cookbook.” And if you’re craving the melty flavors of DIY American Cheese, give our recipe a try and let us know how it goes!

We love spotlighting different bloggers from the America’s Test Kitchen community! Take a look at the amazing bloggers we’ve featured in the past.
