Right about this time, every year, I get a strange feeling in my stomach. It sits down low, a kind of dull ache. It’s not from too much ice cream the night before, nor is it because I haven’t properly hydrated. It’s a craving for Maine. Somehow my body knows it has been a year since I have visited the small island off the coast of Portland and it is telling me, like when I’ve been awake for a few hours without coffee, that I need to get my fix.
Kristin from Maine Momma and Overexposed and Underdeveloped enjoys the Pine Tree State all year round, but I think everyone must have this annual craving for something, and every summer what she needs is to make peach pie. She was able check peach pie off of her summer list, using America’s Test Kitchen’s Foolproof Pie Dough, just before Labor Day. My ache will keep making itself known until I make it to Maine’s rocky coast, but for now there is some satisfaction in looking at these gorgeous photos of comfort pie.
We spotlight a different blogger from the America’s Test Kitchen community each week! Take a look at the amazing bloggers we’ve featured in the past.
