It’s a kitty!
For those of you following along, this is generally a dog-populated series of posts, but we thought it’d be a good idea to throw a bone — pun shamefully intended — to the cat lovers out there. (Meow if you agree.)
Our sweet furry friend Porridge belongs to the niece of Amanda Agee, executive editor of Cook’s Illustrated. He’s about a year old, and was adopted from a local rescue organization in Minneapolis. Obviously, Porridge the cat doesn’t really wander the America’s Test Kitchen offices, but he certainly shows his loyalty in other ways.
Fittingly, he loves oatmeal (though his name preceded this discovery)! While he has been trained to stay off the kitchen island, if allowed, it would be one of his favorite places.
He is a bit mischievous, but very lovable and cuddly. He loves playing with cat toys such as toy mice and “glitterballs” (small metallic pom-poms), but his favorite activity is probably chasing his big sister, Violet. They make a good team, don’t you agree?
