“Dish It Your Way” Blogger Challenge Week 5 Winner

Challenging bloggers to showcase their own versions of classic American dishes.

Salmon Winner

Once again, we received really great submissions to our Salmon Challenge. Because of their enthusiasm, these bloggers reminded us why this very versatile fish is so popular and made our jobs incredibly difficult. The winning storyteller’s blog post stood out because it very artfully chronicled the blogger’s relationship with seafood and salmon.

And the winner is…

Rebecca Richmond’s Spice Crusted Salmon with Watermelon Salsa

Congratulations, Rebecca! We hope your 1-year subscription to CooksCountry.com will encourage you to continue making, blogging about, and most importantly, eating American regional food with your family. Continue sharing your recipes!

Here’s what the judges had to say about Rebecca’s post:

“Loved the writer’s obvious passion for cooking, and ability to write with a voice. I appreciated her link to learning more about sustainable fish, and her photos were fab – I’m a sucker for a child with a mortar and pestle.”

“It’s still kind of a revelation that fish have a season (especially for such a deep-flavored fish such as salmon), and I love the detail that cracked-crumbed cod was her gateway finned fish.”

“To this blogger, salmon is a drug. She made me laugh as I followed her journey, starting with her gateway fish (fried haddock) to her full on addiction (“I drink the salmon Kool-aid, and preach the salmon gospel.”) To top it off, what a delicious looking recipe!”

Please join us next week when we take on burgers! For more details about the “Dish It Your Way Challenge,” click here.
