I just made the meatballs and sauce and froze everything for my party in two weeks. First impressions are that the meatballs are not terribly flavorful, just okay. My 1″ balls cooked much faster than the recommended 12-15 mins, so my first batch was overdone. Second batch was done in 6 mins. Also, my panade wasn’t completely incorporated, so some balls were much more tender than others. Meat mixture could use more salt, which I added. Sauce is delicious. I added a few drops of my favorite hot sauce. This I would def make again, maybe with store bought meatballs if I can find a good source. It’s the sauce that makes it.

I’ve made these delicious meatballs every yearfor three years on New Year’s Eve and they keep requesting them. I do season my meat a bit more and instead of using bread, I crush up croutons and it gives them an awesome flavor. Other than that, I use the recipe as is, and its wonderful as with all Test Kitchen recipes.
