This cake was a real hit! I made it in NY and appropriately brought it to Boston for Thanksgiving. it was much better the next day. Next time I will assemble it the day before.
I have made this recipe three times now. The first time I over cooked the sponge cake and it was a little tough! The second time it was perfect ! Now I am making it for a New Years party and everything is ready to assemble. It tastes as good as it looks!
I had never made pastry cream before but I will be using that part of the recipe for lots of other things because it is SOOOO YUMMY!
