Gadget name: Polder 3-in-1 Timer
It looks like: An digital readout housed in plastic, peppered with buttons, and tied to a lanyard.
How it’s supposed to work: The device claimed to be a reliable and readable clock, timer, and stopwatch.
How it actually works: Its compact size, easy-to-read display, and simple, intuitive controls made it one of the most trustworthy, sensibly designed timers we’ve ever used.
Good to know: A 36-inch lanyard comfortably loops around the neck, and a convenient back-mounted magnet allows you to affix it to wherever you want in the kitchen.
My favorite part: You can switch between the timer, stopwatch, and clock very easily. Counting up—like a stopwatch—is sometimes way more useful than counting down, so it’s nice to have both. And you can set the timer for as small an increment as 1 second or as long as 9 hours and 99 minutes (and 99 seconds).
Overall: This gadget is intuitive and straightforward, with a lot of flexibility from short to long time frames, whether you need to count up or down.
