Which kitchen gizmos actually work and are worth buying

Round Sponges

Do you really need a special scrubber for your muffin tins?

Sometimes manufacturers invent gadgets to solve problems nobody really has. Casabella’s Cube Scrubber Sponge is a good example. It’s a kitchen sponge that’s 2 inches wide and 3 inches tall, shaped like a rounded cube. It’s supposed to protect your manicure and be especially good for scrubbing out muffin tins.

What actually happens is, the cube bounces and flops all over while you struggle to control it, like trying to wash a pan with a Slinky. If you didn’t break a nail trying to use this, I’d be surprised. It’s $8 for three cubes, and a big waste of money.

Do you ever feel like you need a special sponge to do the job?
