Even the freshest head of cauliflower can have minor blemishes. Give your cauliflower a facial by gently rubbing a rasp-style grater over discolored areas until they disappear.
When you’re making cookies, it’s not uncommon to end up with a few of them overbrowned. Get rid of the dark areas by gently grating off the burned spots.
Once you’ve juiced lemons, limes, grapefruit, or oranges, grate them! Then combine the grated zest from 1 to 2 pieces of fruit with 1 cup of vodka in a glass jar and stick it in the fridge. Use the vodka in a citrusy cocktail, but be sure to strain out the zest with a fine-mesh strainer before you drink up.
