ITEM #1 Canning Jar Rings
ITEM #2 ▼

If your baking marathon has left you with a shortage of cooling racks, place three or four canning jar rings on the countertop. The elevation of the rings allows for air to circulate below the cooling item.
ITEM #2 Splatter Screen
ITEM #3 ▼

An overturned splatter screen provides a perforated rack that’s the perfect size for cooling extra cookies.
ITEM #3 Extra Oven Rack

Just because you’re using your oven doesn’t mean you’re using every oven rack. Remove an unused rack from the oven before it heats up, then set it over the sink, which allows for air circulation below the cooling (or drying) item. Like these? See more quick tips at Cook's Illustrated.

I like using 2 metal canning jar rings (1 regular mouth ring, sitting inside 1 large mouth ring) to hold up fatty meats such as bacon wrapped chicken thighs being baked in the oven. This keeps the meat from sitting in the hot drippings.
